It’s been also revealed that Brooks said in an interview that he would start the new job on May 1. A spokeswoman for the crypto exchange confirmed the hire, according to a new article posted by WSJ.
The same notes reveal that during his time at the OCC, Brooks was dubbed the “CryptoComptroller” on social media for his friendly attitude toward digital currencies.
According to the latest reports, it seems that the OCC released guidance that clarifies the fact that new banks could be providing crypto custody services and use stablecoins in order to facilitate payment activities – moves that will be making it much easier for traditional financial institutions to enter the crypto space.
